Women in Technology (WIT) Cisco Networking
Academy Scholarship Program
Cisco Systems
envisioned the WIT program as a response to the global gender
gap in technology that urgently needs to be addressed. Working
together, Cisco and IIE designed the program to create opportunities
for women to gain technology skills in seven Least Developed
Countries, empowering them to accelerate progress and integrate
into the world economy. |

In 2006 and beyond, this highly
effective, low cost training program can be expanded to
other countries. Expansion of the WIT program to your country
is low cost and designed to reduce contracting burdens on
USAID Missions. WIT can be implemented in your country providing
scholarships, professional development activities and career
skills training.

offering the WIT program, please contact us at wit@iie.org.

In their own words:
“There are a lot of women in our
country who are brilliant and motivated but because of the
lack of proper training programs and scholarships; they fail
to specify the right track for them. Most of them end up as
housewives, which is a waste of valuable human resource. The
CNAP program creates a scope for self-acknowledgment and provides
a competitive environment where women learn more than just
a curriculum. They learn to value themselves. I hope that
there will be further scholarships for the CCNP program.”
