Mattel
Global Scholarship Program
West Coast corporations such as Adobe Systems Inc., Chevron Corporation,
Dole Food Company, Levi Strauss & Co., LSI Logic, and Mattel,
Inc. look to the Institute of International Education to help them
gain an edge in the exploding global marketplace. IIE helps corporations
cost-effectively implement their global strategies through a range
of programs, including corporate scholarship programs. As the most
comprehensive private, non-profit U.S. education and training organization
— and proven manager of successful scholarship programs for
the private and public sectors — IIE can assure companies
that international programs are soundly designed and professionally
administered and take into account the complexities of global operations.
To meet corporations' business and philanthropic goals worldwide,
IIE offers a range of professional management services. IIE corporate
programs include scholarships for children of international employees
and scholarship programs for host country nationals, as well as
tools for recruiting U.S. trained international employees.
Community Outreach Awards
Community Outreach Awards offer corporations an ideal opportunity
to build goodwill in the local community where you do business.
For example, the Adobe
Multinational Scholarship Program, administered by the IIE West
Coast Center and funded by the Adobe Systems Inc., awards scholarships
to meritorious secondary school students attending Adobe Partner
Schools in selected countries who plan to enter a post-secondary
degree program in engineering, math, science, education, business,
design studies, graphic art or graphic design and who need financial
assistance to achieve their educational goals. If you have questions,
please contact adobe@iie.org.
Children of Employee Scholarships
Scholarships for children of employees are a key employee benefit
that builds staff loyalty, morale and retention while contributing
to host-country goodwill. IIE develops and administers a range of
these programs for corporations and corporate foundations. Each
program is individually designed, and may include full or partial
scholarship awards for study in the United States, the home country,
or a third country for children of overseas-based employees or for
overseas study by children of U.S.-based employees. Services provided
by the Institute include publicity and recruitment, selection (including
convening of impartial selection panels), evaluating financial need,
awarding and administering scholarships, and monitoring scholarship
winners.
Many companies already sponsor U.S.-based awards, such as National
Merit Scholarships, for the children of their U.S. employees, but
do not have awards for children of their overseas employees. IIE's
experience of more than 85 years in international educational exchange
offers companies a simple and proven method of designing and implementing
international scholarships for children of employees. As the oldest
and most experienced private, non-profit U.S. educational exchange
organization [IRS 501 (c)(3)], IIE can assure companies that international
programs are soundly designed and professionally administered.
