Malik, MP, British Parliament speaks
with IIE members - July 2006

| Mr. Malik, the first
British-born Muslim to be elected to the British Parliament,
was elected the Labour Member of Parliament for Dewsbury, one
of the most deprived areas of West Yorkshire. Mr. Malik has
been active in Labour politics for 20 years and has been member
of the Party’s National Executive Committee since 2000.
He was also a member of the Commission on Racial Equality from
1998 to 2002. |
