Hospitality Program
IIE West Coast Center develops tailored cultural programs for visiting
international leaders, professionals and students, and members of
the local community through our Hospitality Program. Over one hundred
IIE West Coast members actively contribute to this program. Many
of our members enjoy traditional hospitality sharing a meal in their
homes with these international visitors, often inviting friends
and family to share in the experience. Hosted sightseeing is another
popular option; members take them on sightseeing trips or walks
through San Francisco. Some of our sightseeing hosts have worked
professionally as tour guides, and all are enthusiastic about sharing
their love of our city. Alternatively, members can take their international
guests out for coffee, a party, an artistic performance or a sports
game. For members interested in mingling with a variety of international
leaders, professionals and students, our Citizen Host Night receptions
provide the visitors and the community an opportunity to meet each
other in a relaxed social setting. Spending time with the community
outside of a professional office is often the highlight of a program
in the United States, and is an essential component of a valuable,
well-balanced exchange.
If you are an IIE West Coast member interested in participating
in this program, please download and complete the Hospitality Form
and return it to Katka Letzing,
Lead Program Officer.
